Heater Specification Sheet

Choose the family, fill the four rows that start a heating solution drawing, and the sheet prints a specification block in the row order of the FlexBlanket specification table. Leave one of those four blank and no block is printed at all — the sheet names the blank row instead. Every other row is optional: leave one blank and it is listed at the foot of the block under Still needed for a quotation rather than dropped.

Which Family You Are Quoting

The specification table carries a Family column, and the two families do not share their ratings. Silicone heaters own the 1.0–3.0 W/cm² power density, the −60 °C to 250 °C range, the 0.8–3.0 mm thickness, the ±5 °C uniformity and the 12, 24 or 48 VDC and 120 or 230 VAC supplies; drum bands own the three FLB-SDH models, the 30 °C to 150 °C thermostat range and the 10 A (EU/UK) or 15 A (US) plug. Only insulation resistance ≥300 MΩ, dielectric withstand ≥2500 V and IP65 belong to both families.

That density band is a build envelope for custom heaters, not the power a duty demands: the FLB-SDH-250 band is rated 2000 W and measures 1740 × 250 mm, which is 4350 cm² of wrap and works out at 0.46 W/cm² — both the area and the density are derived here from those two published figures, neither is itself a published rating. Your own duty power comes from the watt density and warm-up estimator, and it is fixed at drawing review.

The Four Rows That Start a Drawing

These four are what the silicone and flexible heaters page lists as enough to open the free heating solution drawing: dimensions, target temperature, operating conditions and local supply voltage. Operating conditions there covers three things — the ambient minimum, indoor or outdoor, and what the heater sits against. This sheet range-checks the ambient minimum and carries the other two below with the optional rows, so answer all three before you send the block. Blank any of the four and the block is withheld rather than printed with a gap in it.

Rows That Complete a Quotation

Eight inputs are what let a written quotation come back on the first exchange instead of the third, and they are listed on the quotation input checklist. The rows here cover that same ground and add three the sheet needs for its own arithmetic: heated area, total vessel surface area, and the power density you carry across from the estimator. Leave any of them blank and the block names it under Still needed for a quotation.

The Family column is what keeps a silicone rating off a drum band quotation, and the sheet honours it by filtering the printed rows. The power density row is a construction envelope for custom builds, not a figure your duty has to reach.

Commercial Rows Included

The block closes with the published commercial rows, which apply to both families: first-article sample 1–2 weeks, standard production 7–15 days after order confirmation, payment by T/T with a 30% deposit and the 70% balance before shipment, and EXW and FOB quoted as standard.

What the Sheet Computes

Four lines are derived, and each one is arithmetic on your own numbers against a published FlexBlanket figure. Which of them print depends on what you filled in and on the family you chose.

Four rows are enough to start the drawing; the eight rows on the quotation input checklist are what get the quotation back in one pass. Run the watt density and warm-up estimator first if the power density row is still empty, then print the block.

Send Your Specification Block

Model assumptions: the published rows and the commercial rows are printed verbatim for the family you choose and are never recalculated, and the filter is the Family column of the specification table, so choosing Drum bands prints the three FLB-SDH models, the 30 °C to 150 °C control range, the drum sizes and the plug rating in place of the silicone rows. Four derived lines use arithmetic only: duty power = heated area × the power density entered from the estimator, rounded to the nearest watt; connected load = duty power × quantity, printed only when a duty power exists; build envelope = heated area × 1.0 W/cm² and heated area × 3.0 W/cm², printed for custom silicone heaters only when no estimator figure is entered and suppressed for drum bands; coverage = heated area ÷ total vessel surface area × 100, printed to one decimal place and returning no value when the vessel area is zero or negative. The 1.0–3.0 W/cm² band is a build capability for custom silicone heaters rather than the power a duty needs — the FLB-SDH-250 band is rated 2000 W and measures 1740 × 250 mm, which is 4350 cm² of wrap and works out at a derived 0.46 W/cm², so a fixed-area product sits below the band by design.

A drawing row counts as missing when it is blank or not a number, and no block is printed until all four carry a value; the eleven optional rows are never dropped, and any left blank are listed at the foot of the block under Still needed for a quotation. Values are flagged for review when the target temperature falls outside −60 °C to 250 °C on custom silicone heaters or outside 30 °C to 150 °C on drum bands, when the ambient minimum falls outside −60 °C to 250 °C (a check skipped on drum bands, because no ambient rating is published for that family), when a DC supply or a control package other than the analogue thermostat is chosen for a drum band, when an entered power density is above 3.0 W/cm², when the heated area or vessel area is zero or less, when the heated area is larger than the total vessel surface area, and when the quantity is not a whole number of one or more. The sheet models no physics — no specific heat capacity, no density, no thermal conductivity, no heat-loss coefficient, no insulation factor — so it cannot tell you the wattage a heat-up duty needs, and it does not check that the target temperature is above the ambient minimum, does not size a heater, does not select a model, does not price anything and does not confirm a delivery date.
